HASTELLOY® alloy B-3 (UNS N10675) is a high-performance nickel-molybdenum alloy designed for exceptional resistance to reducing environments, including hydrochloric acid at all concentrations and temperatures. As a solid-solution-strengthened alloy, Hastelloy B-3 combines excellent corrosion resistance with very high mechanical strength, improved thermal stability, and enhanced resistance to intergranular corrosion compared with earlier B-series alloys.
We manufacture Hastelloy B-3 strip in accordance with ASTM B333 as the standard specification. The strip is produced through carefully controlled hot rolling and multiple cold rolling passes to achieve precise thickness, uniform microstructure, and stable mechanical properties.
Due to the extremely high strength and low deformation rate of Hastelloy B-3 during cold working, its production is significantly more challenging than that of many other nickel alloys. Compared with conventional alloys, Hastelloy B-3 requires more cold rolling passes and tighter process control, making consistent quality difficult for many suppliers to achieve. At SEATHER, we invest heavily in process optimization, rolling precision, and intermediate annealing control to overcome these challenges. What is Hastelloy B-3 (UNS N10675)
Alloy B-3 also referred to as the UNS N10675/W.Nr. 2.4600 alloy.
Alloy B-3 is similar to alloy B-2 in terms of resistance to non oxidizing agents, resistance to stress corrosion & pittings, non formation of grain boundry.
Like other nickel alloys (in the mill annealed condition), it is ductile, can be formed and welded, and resists stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing solutions.
Also, it is able to withstand fluoride-bearing media and concentrated sulfuric acid, both of which result in damage to zirconium alloys.
Alloy B-3 is widely used in numerous chemical process industry, especially in the construction of reaction vessels for pure, reducing acid service.
B-3 alloy is available in the form of plates, sheets, strips, billets, bars, wires, pipes, tubes, and coated electrodes.
