Inconel 718 Strip (UNS N07718) Applications & Usages
The ease and economy with which Inconel alloy 718 strip can be fabricated, combined with good tensile, fatigue, creep, and rupture strength, have resulted in its use in a wide range of applications.
Examples of these are components for liquid fueled rockets, rings, casings and various formed sheet metal parts for aircraft and land-based gas turbine engines, and cryogenic tankage.
It is also used for fasteners washers and stamping parts.
Inconel 718 Strip (UNS N07718) Drawing & Formula
Formula: m = W (m) × THK (mm) × L (m) × ρ (g/cm³)
W = Width, THK = Thickness, L = Length, ρ = Density
What is Inconel 718 (UNS N07718)
Alloy 718 is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant nickel chromium material used at -423° to 1300°F.
The age-hardenable alloy can be readily fabricated, even into complex parts. Its welding characteristics, especially its resistance to postweld cracking, are outstanding.
Examples of these are components for liquid fueled rockets, rings, casings and various formed sheet metal parts for aircraft and land-based gas turbine engines, and cryogenic tankage.
It is also used for fasteners and instrumentation parts.
Alloy 718 is available as pipe, tube, sheet, strip, plate, round bar, flat bar, forging stock, hexagon, wire and extruded section.

More Information About Inconel 718 Strip (UNS N07718)
When you choose to buy Inconel 718 Strip (UNS N07718), there have some important points we need to know before we get started.
Pitting resistance equivalency numbers (PREN) for Inconel 718
Inconel 718 PREN: 31
The pitting resistance equivalency number uses the alloy’s chemical makeup to guess its power against pitting corrosion. You check how much chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, and nitrogen are in the alloy. These elements help keep the steel safe. The most used formula is:
PREN = CR% + 3.3 x (MO% + 0.5 x W%) + 16 x N% How to Purchase Inconel 718 Strip (UNS N07718)
