MONEL® alloy K-500 (UNS N05500 / W.Nr. 2.4375) is a nickel-copper alloy that combines the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel 400 with significantly greater strength and hardness. These enhanced mechanical properties are achieved through the controlled addition of aluminum and titanium followed by age-hardening.
Monel K-500 coiled tubing is a continuous small-diameter tube manufactured by welding, continuous cold drawing, and precision coiling of Monel K-500 strip. To ensure a clean internal surface and prevent oxide formation, all coils undergo a bright annealing process. The resulting tubing features exceptional high-temperature performance, outstanding corrosion resistance, and excellent structural integrity.
SEATHER offers both seamless and welded Monel K-500 coiled tubing options to meet different application requirements. Please note that due to process limitations, the available length of seamless coiled tubing is typically shorter than that of welded coiled tubing of the same size. It is a nickel-copper alloy which combines the excellent corrosion resistance of alloy 400 with the added advantages of greater strength and hardness.
K-500 alloy has excellent mechanical properties ranging from sub-zero temperatures up to around 480°C.
Typical applications for alloy K-500 products are chains and cables, fasteners and springs for marine service; pump and valve components for chemical processing; doctor blades and scrapers for pulp processing in paper production; oil well drill collars and instruments, pump shafts and impellers, non-magnetic housings, safety lifts and valves for oil and gas production; and sensors and other electronic components.
