What is Titanium Ti-6Al-4V?
Grade Ti-6Al-4V Titanium, also known as UNS R56400 or Gr.5 titanium, is the most widely used titanium alloy, manufactured according to the ASTM B265 standard.
Its chemical composition consists of approximately 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium.
Ti-6Al-4V alloy is highly valued for its excellent balance of properties, combining high strength, low density, and outstanding corrosion resistance. In addition, this titanium grade provides reliable wear resistance, making it suitable for demanding environments.
Due to its superior mechanical properties, Grade Ti-6Al-4V Titanium retains the lightweight advantage of pure titanium while offering significantly higher strength. The alloy can also be heat-treated to further improve strength and performance, making it a versatile choice for aerospace, marine, chemical processing, and medical applications.
