What is 15-5 Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steel?
Grade 15-5 stainless steel, often referred to as UNS S15500 martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steel.
It is resistant to general corrosive environment. Its toughness, ductility, hardness and corrosion resistance are comparable with 304 stainless steel.
15-5 alloy has excellent transverse toughness and ductility.Its processing properties are similar to those of other precipitation hardened stainless steels.
Age hardening can be realized in one step through low temperature heat treatment. This material is used for parts that require high lateral strength and toughness.
Grade 15-5 stainless steel is available in all standard mill forms including pipe, rod, bar, plate, sheet, strip and foil products.
