What is 17-7 Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steel?

Grade 17-7 stainless steel, often referred to as 631 austenitic-martensitic precipitation hardening stainless steel.

Grade 17-7 stainless steel features better corrosion resistance than general martensitic stainless steel and higher strength than common austenite. It is also referred to as the UNS S17700/W.Nr. 1.4568 alloy.

Grade 17-7 features high strength, high hardness, good corrosion resistance, anti-fatigue, and workability. It is less likely to deform under high temperature.

Due to the excellent steel performance, it is particularly suitable for use in aerospace industry.

This special alloy is also suitable for fields that require high strength and corrosion resistance. Its spring performance remains excellent under temperature as high as 316℃.

Grade 17-7 stainless steel is available in all standard mill forms including pipe, rod, bar, plate, sheet, strip and foil products.
