What is Titanium Grade 2?
Titanium grade 2 also referred to as the UNS R50400 commercially pure alpha titanium.
Commercially pure titanium grade 2 is slightly stronger than Grade 1 but equally corrosion resistant against most applications. Compared to the other grades of commercially pure titanium, grade 2 is slightly weaker than grade 3.
Grade 2 titanium with high specific strength and ductility, low weight, excellent corrosion resistance Heat treatable, good weldability and machinability. Therefore, titanium grade 2 is the most widely used titanium.
Grade 2 titanium is widely used in heat exchangers, condenser tubing and bleaching plants in paper industry, offshore oil installation water pipe lines.
Grade 2 titanium is available in the form of pipe, round bar, forging, wire, plate, strip and foil section.
